Which of these areas are your expertise?

Which of these areas do you need help with?

This introductory list demonstrates the amazing breadth of issues we are called upon to deal with as condominium board leaders.  Over time, as people like you contribute to this initiative, the list will contain more and more active hypertext links to separate pages on each issue.  We'll have introductory remarks, detailed issues, explanations and resources to help you communicate with others on these topics.  If you're looking for help, these pages will point you in the right direction.  If you have expertise to offer, these pages will provide you the opportunity to help others avoid re-inventing the wheel.

To get started, review the list and send us an email identifying what you're looking for and what expertise you have to give.  Initially, reach out to us at info@condoaffairscouncil.org.  Once we become acquainted, you'll be invited to contact a number of different leaders like yourself and participate fully in this forum.

For those who enjoy condominium living, one of the main attractions is the lack of usual hassles of living on a separate piece of land.  You do not have to cut the grass, seal the driveway, repair the furnace, fix the roof and things like that.  But for condominium board leaders, life is a different story.  You are called upon to address many different areas of concern far beyond the issues you would face as the owner of a single family property.  These issues present you with very real financial and logistical implications, even more so than a single family property.  So whom do you turn for assistance?

Here at the Condominium Affairs Council, we turn to each other.  As a committed group of leaders, we know that the most effective and straightforward advice comes from those who have traveled this road before. We've dealt with leaking bathtubs, burst pipes, inadequate HVAC, decorating the hallways, elevator repairs, nuisance animals, repairing the facade and many many more things. There is no need for us to reinvent the wheel.

In theory, this sounds wonderful!  But in practice, this too is a lot of work.  It needs YOUR dedicated input.  YOU are an essential component of OUR team.  Your Condominium Affairs Council is a sounding board, a place to meet and mingle with others who share similar responsibilities on an overwhelming number of topics.  But as a certain politician said not too long ago, "It takes a village!"  So how committed to this team are you?  Do you recognize the value of this contribution and are you willing to support those who support you?

You can help us by joining this initiative and offering your perspective on those issues that you have personally handled.  You can contribute both advise and tangible resources such as contracts, bids, reviews, lists of vendors and condominium documents relative to your property. A primary benefit of this group is to serve as an organizational tool to facilitate communication and the sharing of information among condominium board leaders.  Please register your interest by sending a simple email to info@condoaffairscouncil.org.  Briefly let us know who you are, where you live, what you have to contribute and what if anything you are specifically looking for.  Take that first step to become introduced to the group and you'll be amazed how we can assist one another!
